DRACO AND HERMIONE - MY FAN FIC
PG-13
Hermione poked at her food with no intention of eating it. Harry and Ron, chating happily with one another about a RavenClaw girl, suddenly realized
her silence.
"Uh...Hermione...are you alright?" Ron asked.
"Ronald, of course I'm okay. What's amatter with you? Your always asking me those stupid questions." Hermione snapped.
Harry and Ron glanced at each other. "Well, Hermione...it's just...you haven't eaten anything...and..." Harry started.
"What in the world are you talking about?" Hermione asked, stuffing a bite of beef into her mouth.
Luna slid in beside Hermione, taking a plate and a baked potato.
"Hello, Ronald. Harry. Hermione." She said cheerfully.
"Hey Luna." Ron and Harry said, smiling at their friend.
Hermione was once again poking at her food, lost in thought.
"Hermione, are you okay?" Luna asked.
Ron smacked himself in the forehead, and Harry winced.
"Oh my god! Of course I'm okay! What's amatter with you all? Geez." She shoved her plate, only a corner of beef missing, into the middle of the table,
knocking over a pitcher of pumpkin juice, before standing and stomping out of the hall.
"What'd I say?" Luna asked, looking frightened.
"I'm not sure. She's...ah...acting a little wierd right now..." Harry said.
"A little?" Ron gasped.
Malfoy watched Hermione stomp out of the hall. Crab and Goyle broke into laughter.
"Throwing a fit, there, insn't she?" Goyle laughed, whiping a smudge of potato away from his lip.
Crab nearly fell of the bench in laughter.
Malfoy stared at the doors. "I...uh...gotta go to the bathroom. Be right back." He whipped his mouth with a napkin, and then stood. Racing out of the
hall, Crab and Goyle watched, confused.
Hermione continued on her way to Griffindor Tower when she heard running steps behind her. "Ron...Harry...Ginny...Luna...whoever you are...I'm fine.
Just leave me alone." She said through gritted teeth, not looking back.
"Alright. Got time for Malfoy?" The footsteps asked. Hermione closed her eyes, and stopped walking. Arms wrapped around her waist. Malfoy kissed her
ear.
"Not here! Not here! Come on!" Hermione said, grabing his hand and pulling him into a closet full of mops and buckets. She leaned against a shelf,
wrapping her hands around Malfoy's neck, and kissing him gently on the lips.
Malfoy looked at his girlfriend seriously. "So what is amatter?"
Hermione rolled her eyes. "How in the world do I tell Harry I'm in love with his enemy? And Ron....how can I crush his heart like that? I...I..." Hermione
almost burst into tears.
Malfoy pulled her closer. "I don't know how I'm going to tell my friend's either. But we just have to...do it. And see what happens. If they are real
friends, they will be happy for us."
Hermione cuddled close to his chest. "Alright. Alright."
"Hermione?" They could hear voices calling outside the door.
Hermione pushed Malfoy away. "Hurry! Hurry! Stay in here, okay? I'll get them away."
"Alright." Malfoy whispered.
Hermione darted out of the closet, and down the corridor. She could see Harry coming around the corner, but he handn't spotted her yet. She moved
around the corner, fixing her hair and walking slowly.
"Hermione!" Harry yelled, darting down the corridor and wrapping his arms around her.
"Ha...Harry what's going on?" Hermione muttered, scared.
Harry backed away from her, a worried look on his face. "We saw Malfoy leave the room right after you did...then Crab and Goyle were having a
laughing fit...and you didn't come back. Ron ran up to the common room, Luna checked the library, and I called for you in the bathroom, but you were
gone. We thought...he...did something to you."
Hermione's eyes widened. "No...no...I was just...reading. Alone. Over there." She signaled to a chair around the corner, with a book sitting on it.
Harry looked puzzled. "Well...alright. Let's go." They walked down a little ways, before seeing Ron collapsed, crying, in a chair, Luna over him, patting
his shoulder.
"Ron!" Hermione cried, darting to the chair and wrapping her hands around him. "What happened?" She asked, whipping hair out of his face.
"I thought....I thought...I saw a spider." Ron studdered, hugging her back.
Luna rolled her eyes. "He was worried sick about you, Hermione."
"Oh..." Hermione whispered. "Ron, I'm fine. Let's go eat." She heard Malfoy closing the closet door as she lead the group back to the hall.
The next morning, after breakfast, Hermione had met Malfoy in the same supply closet as the night before.
"They thought you hurt me, Malfoy! They...they thought you hurt me!" She cried, shaking her head. They were both sitting next to each other against a
shelf..
"I would never..." Malfoy began.
"Yes, but you would've a week ago!" Hermione inturupted. "Listen...I just think that...we should...this won't work. Okay? We just gotta move on."
Malfoy's eyes grew wide and he gasped. "No! Hermione! We can't just give up!"
Hermione shook her head, stood, and grasped the door handle. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry..." She opened the door and darted out, tears running down her
cheeks.
Ginny sat against the window in Griffindor Tower, staring at the owls flying by with their messages to deliver. Hermione stepped up behind her.
"Hey, Hermione." Ginny whispered, looking back out the window.
"Oh...Ginny. Hi. I didn't see you...there." Hermione stopped, pushing her hair behind her ears.
"What...what...what do you do when you care for a boy...that doesn't like you...like you like them?" Ginny said, thoughtfully.
Hermione opened her mouth in shock, and then sat next to Ginny in the window seat.
"Well, I guess...you...start a conversation...get close to them....and then tell them how you feel." Hermione replied.
Ginny shook her head. "What if...what if this boy...is Harry?"
Hermione stared in shock at Ginny. "Are...you serious?"
Ginny looked at Hermione, her eyes wide. "Oh...my god. Hermione...please...I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking."
Ginny stood and ran out of the room, the door to the girls dormitory slamming.
Hermione covered her face with her hands...closing her eyes and wanting to cry. But the door was opening. She pat down her skirt and looked out the
window.
"Hermione! There you are! Thank goodness!" Harry said, sitting across from her.
"I'm fine! I'm fine! Geez, you guys don't see me for an hour, and you freak out!" Hermione cried, rolling her eyes.
"NO! No! Hermione, Ron...he's...asked the RavenClaw girl out!" Harry cried.
Hermione looked at him in shock.
"Isn't it great?" Harry asked. "He's finally gotten over you!"
Hermione rolled her eyes. "He didn't ever like me."
Harry shook his head. "You go on believing that. See you later."
As Harry left the room, Hermione let her tears over flow. She had lost two of the guys in her life...and if she helped Ginny get with Harry...she'd be all
alone in the dating world.
During dinner, there was a staff meeting. All the teachers were gone, and the students were left alone in the hall with their food. Ocassionally, Filtch
would pace into the room, look around, sneer, and walk out. But Hermione never noticed. She ate her food without a word to Ron or Harry, who were
talking about Ron's steamy night with the RavenClaw beauty.
Ginny sat beside Hermione, and whispered in her ear. "Would you mind saying something to him tonight? I cannot get him off of my mind!"
Hermione nodded her head as Ginny hugged her gently and went back to her seat at the opposite end of the table.
"What was that about, Hermione?" Ron asked, staring curiously at her.
Harry ate a bite of beef, and then continued their conversation. "So, she didn't ask you about Fred and George?"
"Guys! I gotta go." Hermione said.
Harry smiled. "Eh, atleast you told me this time. Where you off to?"
Hermione smiled back. "Where else? Got some studying to do."
As Hermione was about to open the door, Luna ran over and grabbed her hand.
"Hermione! Um...Malfoy told me to stop you." She smiled, pulling Hermione towards the Slytherin table. Malfoy was pulling himself up onto it, yelling
for silence.
"Everyone! Please! Quiet! I have a announcement to make!" Malfoy yelled.
The room went dead silent, and a horrible pain kicked in Hermione's gut.
"Thank you. Now...I wanna say...I have fallen in love with a beautiful, amazing, smart, talented girl. But...she is someone no one would suspect, and
she's not from Slytherin." Malfoy announced loudly.
If Luna wasn't holding tight to her wrist, Hermione would've dashed out of the hall. She looked at the floor, closing her eyes.
"And I want everyone to know!" Malfoy was continuing. "I....LOVE...HERMIONE...GRANGER!" He announced.
Gasps filled the room, and Hermione let a tear drop onto the stone floor.
Malfoy jumped off the table, and pulled Hermione close to him. Luna slowly let go, and Hermione shook her head. All eyes were on them.
Malfoy whispered in her ear. "I love you, Hermione. And now you don't have to tell anyone."
He lifted her chin, but Hermione pulled away.
"Don't worry." Malfoy whispered. He lifted her chin again.
Hermione's cheek dripped tears, and her heart beat faster and faster.
Malfoy pressed his lips to hers. Roars of laughter....and sounds of disgust rang through the room.
Steps came toward them...then a yell, and the sound scuffing feet on the stone floor rang in Hermione's ears.
Ron's voice came next. "Hermione! No! No...."
Hermione pulled away from Malfoy. She saw Harry, fighting to hold back Ron. Ron's wand had fallen on the ground. And Ron's eyes were swollen with
tears. The girl from RavenClaw was standing beside him, tears in her eyes.
Malfoy held Hermione's hands tight in his. She pulled away, and walked towards Ron. She pushed Harry away, and wrapped her hands around Ron.
"It's alright. He's okay, Ron. He's telling the truth." Hermione whispered.
"No...no Hermione. That's not it." Ron sobbed.
"Wha...what is it, Ron?" Hermione said, confused, sagging in his strong arms.
"I...I love you." Ron replied.
Hermione pulled away. She kissed Ron on the cheek, and ran out the hall in tears.
