BOWTRUCKLE
They are a small, wooden tree-guardian that live only in trees that are used in the making of magic wands. They are made of bark and twigs with two brown eyes, and are very hard to spot. They usually only reach eight inches tall and are found in the West of England, Southern Germany and some forests in Scandinavia. They like to eat woodlice and fairy eggs.
They are shy and generally peaceful but will scratch and gouge out eyes if they feel their trees are being threatened with their long, sharp fingers. I have heard that if you present an offering of woodlice, they will stay away long enough to harvest the wand wood.
