They are an extremely dull creature. They are thick, brown, slimy, and are around 10 inches long. One end of them looks identical to the other end, and both ends secrete a sort of mucus, which is sometimes used to thicken potions up.

They have been known to eat lettuce, although they will eat seemingly any vegetation, and usually live in damp ditches.
