phoned in the ending
Jul 27 2007, 8:05 AM EDT Does anyone else feel that J.K. Rowling sort of buckled under the pressure from her fans with the ending? I mean, it all led up to a final confrontation that was done in one cast spell. And the battles that were described in the end seemed paltry compared to some of the battles she described in earlier books. I was just a tad bit disappointed. but hey, still love Harry Potter. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: phoned in the ending
Nov 17 2007, 9:05 AM EST yah...i was also kinda hoping that somehow, voldemort would blast open by a very powerful spell or something...but i guess the old "Expelliarmus" knocked the hell off him..maybe JK wanted to stress out the earlier part of the book when someone, Lupin if im not mistaken, has warn Harry to change his signature spell for he would be predictable. well...just shows that instict might sometimes be right. =) Do you find this valuable? |

RE: phoned in the ending
Dec 3 2007, 1:54 PM EST I don't agree with you Grizzleypappa. I think we all expected Harry to snuff it at the end. I read with baited breath and don't think my old ticker would have been able to stand a more fierce battle between he-who-must-not-be-named and our hero ... I liked the twist ... the world is safe ... and Harry can just lead a "normal" life ... finally ... now we can all just imagine what happened during those 19 years .... Do you find this valuable? |
